I was born, raised, and currently reside in Ohio. I am a deeply curious person and like to bring that curiosity into every moment. As a child my curious nature was often overshadowed by fear and anxiety, and I have a tremendous amount of gratitude for those supports in my life that were able to both honor my fears and hold space for me to explore my needs and interests. I found comfort in books and movies that were able to capture the beauty and pain of the human existence, not fully understanding what was guiding me towards these concepts, and sometimes pushing hard against it. From childhood to young adulthood I was deeply involved in religion, and when I began to struggle finding comfort in the verses and ideas that I once held so dear, I went through a major shift in my understanding of myself and the world around me. This led me to exploring various methods of healing including Somatic Experiencing, float tanks, diet, meditation, yoga, Reiki, and plant medicines. I attempt to engage in these practices while holding the awareness of my many layers of privilege as a White, able-bodied, cis man to do so, and seeking to understand and learn about their historical and cultural roots, and the systems of oppression that granted me access to them. I believe in the body-soul-mind connection, and love engaging with others on this journey. I have a deep passion in working with others, holding space for healing in relationships, and finding the flow within communication. I continue to seek and find the sacred all around me, and have a continued interest in religious and spiritual studies. I spend most of my time in nature, either hiking, hanging out in my camper van, or being with my dog Charlie, and I have found looking to nature and Its wisdom has continuously allowed me to learn new things about myself and those around me. I also enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction works and spend a lot of time writing (or more accurately, thinking about writing). I will continue to explore and work towards wholeness and healing for myself, my family, and my community, and I believe that it is within the context of relationships that we can find a place of safety and love.

I completed my undergraduate studies in Counseling Psychology and Biblical Studies at Kentucky Christian University (2008), and received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ball State University (2012). I have worked in a variety of settings including a community mental health center and several college counseling centers, and began working in private practice in 2019. I began my training in Somatic Experiencing in 2018 in Yellow Springs, OH, and received my Somatic Experiencing Practitioner certificate in 2022. I am currently assisting for SE trainings. I will be attending a training at the Psychedelic Somatic Institute in October of 2022 to begin training for psychedelic therapy work with Cannabis and Ketamine, and will be providing those sessions once I receive my certificate. I will continue to stay updated with the various laws and issues around plant medicine and other healing modalities.
